CDBF Coaching Funding Proposal

Aim of the federations proposal: To increase junior participation in the Chelmsford area with the long-term aim of the juniors feeding into affiliated senior clubs.

Federation’s requirements of the coaches:
  • Become level 2 qualified via level 1 if not already acquired
  • Join the BE coaching register for insurance purposes
  • Gain full DBS certificate via the BE provided channels
  • Operate a 2-hour junior coaching session weekly for 12 consecutive weeks on a day and time agreed between the coach and the federation once qualified. This must be completed within the first 4 months of qualification and registration.
  • Continue coaching on a paid basis after the initial 12 weeks at a minimum of 1 session per week with the option to expand to multiple sessions if seen as desirable by both the federation and the coach. The rate of pay is to be discussed and agreed by the coach and the federations and is influenced by session size.
Agreement between federation and new coaches for post qualification expectations

After qualifying, the federation books courts at a Chelmsford venue on a day and time agreed with the coach/coaches. The new coach runs this session for 12 weeks, free of charge, offering badminton coaching to children. After the specified number of weeks has passed, the coach agrees to continue running the session but then will receive an agreed rate of pay generated from the session indefinitely going forward.
